Winter Solstice Spiral
Friday, December 20th
5-6pm 5:30pm Singing with Justine Costerouse We invite you to light a candle and walk the spiral in silence in celebration of the winter solstice. This family-friendly event is free, open to the public and all ages. Bring a mug for warm apple cider and a clear glass jar with a tea light candle. Please park legally and do not block driveways. Honoring Indigenous Peoples' Day at Hawk Creek Farm
Monday, October 14

Free, open to the public, all ages welcome.
11am Story time for young children
Take a tour of the farm, help remove some invasive species, sip some Hawk Creek Farm tea and learn about our work honoring indigenous peoples.
TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING:
The farm is accessible via MUNI or a short walk from the Glen Park BART station.
Secure bicycle parking on the farm.
If you are driving, please park legally in respect for our neighbors and be aware that street cleaning on Cotter Street is Monday 9-11am.

Community Work Day and Outdoor Gear Swap at Hawk Creek Farm

- We will be supporting the health of our abundant fall crops, fruit trees and native plants through invasive species removal.
- Bring your favorite weeding tool and gloves, if you have them.

- Optional: Bring gently-used rain gear, sports gear, and clothing your child has outgrown to swap for sizes your child currently wears.

- 10am-11am: Celebrating SF PRIDE Month: A Natural Dyeing Rainbow Silk Workshop for children and adults with Teacher Kaori
- 10am-11am: Carla Marie Muñoz of the Ohlone Sisters will be selling hand-made jewelry and artwork
- 10:30-11am: Animal care training with Farmer Jenna, including emergency animal care training for summer
- 11am-12pm: Special guests the Ohlone Sisters, plus Excelsior Branch of the San Francisco Public Library free book give-away of children's books by indigenous authors and button-making featuring images from 2024 Summer Stride illustrator-author, Sendy Santamaria
- 11:45am: Planting a Tree for Peace (hosted by the 2nd grade class of Golden Bridges School and the Social Justice Committee)
- 12pm-1pm: Vegetarian and vegan lunch provided by our Hawk Creek Farm partner Chef Pujan of TIYA
- Bring your own dishes, utensils and napkins to use
- 12-1pm: Arts and Crafts for children and adults (hosted by the 3rd grade class of Golden Bridges School)
- 1-2pm: Hawk Creek Farm will be selling oregano tincture and calendula salve made by Backyard Herbalism II students
- 2-4pm: Kamayan Workshop: Filipino Communal Food Gathering with Golden Bridges School teacher Miel Alegre and former Golden Bridges School chef and Excelsior District resident Jon Ferrer
